Job Full Description:
A leading building products organization is seeking a driven and customer-focused Retail Sales Representative to support residential sales growth in the West Michigan market. This role is responsible for conducting in-home consultations, presenting tailored product solutions, and guiding homeowners through the sales process. The Retail Sales Representative serves as a trusted advisor to customers, leveraging company-provided leads and proven sales processes to close business and deliver a high-quality customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-home consultations with homeowners to assess needs and present product solutions
- Utilize company-provided leads to drive sales (no cold calling or door-to-door prospecting)
- Demonstrate product offerings and recommend solutions aligned with customer needs and budget
- Guide customers through the sales process from initial consultation to close
- Maintain strong product knowledge and effectively communicate value propositions
- Leverage CRM tools and sales technology to manage pipeline and track activity
- Meet or exceed established sales goals and performance metrics
Schedule:
- Full-Time, On-site in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area
- Travel required for in-home customer appointments throughout the territory
Job Experience
- Prior sales or customer-facing experience preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, and closing skills
- Self-motivated with a competitive and results-driven mindset
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to travel locally for in-home appointments
- Experience in home improvement or building products is a plus
