Job Full Description:
A manufacturing company is seeking a detail-oriented JSA Specialist to support workplace safety initiatives through the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and related documentation. This contract position will work closely with operations, safety, and production teams to observe job tasks, identify potential hazards, document safe work procedures, and ensure frontline employees have clear, accurate instructions for performing their work safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will possess strong written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a methodical, analytical approach to problem-solving. This individual will spend time in both office and manufacturing environments, gathering information directly from employees and observing work processes firsthand. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage documentation across multiple work areas, and a genuine curiosity for understanding how work is performed and how safety processes can be improved.
Responsibilities:
- Observe manufacturing processes and job tasks to identify hazards and develop accurate Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
- Create, update, and maintain JSAs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other safety documentation in a clear, concise format
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and safety teams to gather information and validate safe work procedures
- Organize and maintain a library of safety documents, ensuring version control and compliance with company standards
- Verify that documented procedures reflect current work practices and align with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Support workplace safety and continuous improvement initiatives through process analysis, documentation, and field observations
Schedule:
- Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm (with some flexibility)
- Contract Position (3-6 Months)
Job Experience
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to create clear, easy-to-follow work instructions
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple documents and priorities
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and spending time on the production floor observing work processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software and technical processes
- Analytical, curious, and methodical mindset; experience with JSAs, SOPs, OSHA regulations, manufacturing environments, or process documentation preferred
