Job Full Description:

A faith-based nonprofit organization serving individuals experiencing homelessness is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the day-to-day administration of human resources while fostering a strong, Christ-centered workplace culture. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of People & Culture, this position plays a key role in HR operations, recruitment, onboarding, employee development, retention initiatives, compliance, and reporting. The Human Resources Generalist will collaborate across the organization to ensure employees receive exceptional support throughout the employment lifecycle while contributing to a positive, mission-driven work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage HR administration, including employee records, personnel actions, HRIS maintenance, employment documentation, and policy support.
  • Coordinate the full recruitment and onboarding process, including job postings, candidate communication, interviews, reference checks, and new hire orientation.
  • Support employee engagement and retention through training coordination, stay and exit interview programs, employee feedback initiatives, and leadership development efforts.
  • Collaborate on performance management, compensation reviews, in-house investigations, and other employee relations initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws while maintaining required employment records and supporting audits, workers' compensation, and unemployment administration.
  • Prepare HR reports and analytics, including headcount, turnover, recruiting metrics, training completion, and leadership dashboards to support organizational decision-making.
  • Assist with grant submissions and administration to secure employee training funds while maintaining compliance with grant requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday 

Job Experience

  • Working knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems, and the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • SHRM certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Professional, collaborative, and service-oriented with excellent business writing and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to supporting a faith-based workplace and modeling integrity, compassion, professionalism, and servant leadership. 

Job Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and 3-5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
