Job Full Description:
A local manufacturing company in Wyoming, MI, is seeking a dedicated HR Generalist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, particularly in investigations, recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and benefits administration. This role will be responsible for assisting with the full scope of HR processes, from ensuring HR best practices to fostering a positive and compliant work environment. The HR Generalist will work closely with department heads and leadership to support staff and organizational growth.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the recruitment process, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
- Develop and implement best practices for the interviewing and selection process.
- Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring new hires have a smooth transition into the organization and are set up for success.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Manage employee relations issues, including discipline investigations, conflict resolution, mediating disputes, and providing guidance on workplace behavior.
- Provide support for employee performance management, including coaching, corrective actions, and conducting investigations when needed.
- Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, benefits, and payroll information.
- Use HR software to manage employee data and generate reports as needed.
- Work closely with leadership and department heads to understand staffing needs, organizational goals, and employee performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a supportive and productive culture.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in HR processes to increase efficiency and employee satisfaction.
- Stay informed of current HR trends, best practices, and legal requirements to keep the organization compliant and competitive.

Job Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources, with a strong focus on recruiting, interviewing, benefits administration, and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.
- Experience with HRIS systems and payroll software.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Job Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
