Rooted in faith and committed to dignifying every individual, Benjamin’s Hope pairs excellence in care with a deep belief in purpose, belonging, and global impact. We seek leaders who embody the Ben’s Hope way—joyful, relational, mission-driven, and unwaveringly committed to stewarding the organization with integrity, compassion, and vision.

The organization is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Controller to lead accounting operations and ensure strong financial stewardship. This role is responsible for maintaining financial integrity, compliance, and sustainability while honoring the mission.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who values transparency, collaboration, and purpose-driven work.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform (and oversee when appropriate) all core accounting functions including AP/AR, payroll, cash management, fixed assets, restricted funds, donations, and retirement plan administration
  • Lead annual budgeting and manage operating and capital budgets
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, budget variance reporting, and cash flow forecasts
  • Manage month-end and year-end close, audits, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting, including Form 990 support
  • Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee Medicaid financial requirements, cost reporting, audits, and rate support documentation
  • Manage grant, donation, and restricted fund accounting
  • Oversee financial systems and integrations (QuickBooks, Paycor, Fathom, billing partners)
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Supervise and develop finance team members
  • Partner with leadership and program teams to support operational planning and financial decision-making

Schedule:

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday

  • Nonprofit accounting experience with Board-level reporting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, audits, and compliance
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong analytical and communication skills
  • High ethical standards and strong alignment with Benjamin’s Hope’s mission and values
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to pivot and shift priorities as needed
  • Experience with Medicaid revenue and compliance management preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-powered financial tools and automation to streamline accounting processes, improve accuracy, and drive operational efficiencies while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance.
