A leading furniture manufacturing company is seeking a highly experienced Process Engineer to join their team for a contract position. This individual will play a key role in evaluating, developing, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality production, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of optimizing manufacturing processes, implementing lean principles, and driving continuous improvement efforts within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and optimize production processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality while ensuring compliance with company standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, design, and quality control to identify process improvements and implement best practices.
Lead process improvement initiatives, including the application of lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen events, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Conduct root cause analysis of process-related issues and develop corrective action plans to address inefficiencies or quality concerns.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flow diagrams.
Monitor and evaluate manufacturing metrics, identifying areas for improvement and tracking progress over time.
Provide technical expertise and support to the production team in the implementation of new processes, equipment, or materials.
Ensure that all process changes comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
Train and mentor production staff on process changes and best practices to ensure consistent and high-quality performance.
Support the continuous development and improvement of the company's overall production strategy and operational performance.
Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, Contract
5+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably within the furniture manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Experience with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Why, 8D, A3, and corrective action implementation.
Ability to design and implement process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on optimizing manufacturing processes and reducing waste.
Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
