Job Full Description:
A leading fluid power and industrial distribution company is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer/Data Analyst to support purchasing, inventory, and data analysis activities. This role will utilize advanced Excel skills and analytical capabilities to evaluate inventory trends, support purchasing decisions, maintain accurate data, and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost management. Responsibilities:
- Analyze inventory levels, purchasing activity, usage trends, and other data to support purchasing and inventory decisions.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to develop and maintain reports, forecasts, data analyses, and other tools used to support business decisions.
- Support purchasing activities by processing orders, maintaining accurate pricing and purchasing records, and coordinating with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier lead times and delivery performance and communicate potential issues to the appropriate teams.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory information within the company's ERP system and assist with identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborate with purchasing, sales, warehouse, and other teams to align inventory and purchasing activity with business needs.
- Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Assist with inventory audits, cycle counts, and other purchasing, inventory, and analytical projects.
Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, and working with large datasets.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory, supply chain, data analysis, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with an ERP system; Prophet 21 experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to identify trends and discrepancies in data.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in developing a career in purchasing, supply chain, and/or data analysis.
