Product Development Manager
Location: Greater Indianapolis Area
Overview
Our client, a growing consumer products manufacturer, is seeking a Product Development Manager to oversee new product development, commercialization, and product lifecycle management initiatives. This role serves as a key liaison between Product Development, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Purchasing, and R&D to ensure products are successfully launched, maintained, and optimized throughout their lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized project leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a strong understanding of product development, forecasting, cost management, and cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Do
- Lead the development and commercialization of new products from concept through launch.
- Manage project timelines and coordinate activities across R&D, Purchasing, Operations, Marketing, and Sales teams.
- Conduct market and product research to support new product opportunities and business growth initiatives.
- Develop pricing recommendations, evaluate margins, and support profitability objectives.
- Manage product lifecycle activities, including product launches, transitions, forecasting, and discontinuations.
- Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure project alignment, launch readiness, and ongoing product success.
- Monitor inventory trends, forecast demand, and provide recommendations to support supply chain and production planning.
- Drive process improvements and support the development of best practices within the Product Development function.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
- Base Salary: $75,000-$85,000

Job Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience in product development, product management, manufacturing, or a related field will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience managing product development, commercialization, project management, or product lifecycle initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while working cross-functionally across departments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with experience supporting forecasting, pricing, and inventory decisions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including experience working directly with customers and business partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
