Job Full Description:

A global manufacturing supplier in the Columbus area is seeking an Industrial Engineer.

In this role, you will analyze the operating environment, identify process inefficiencies, and develop solutions that reduce waste, improve workflow, and optimize labor and equipment utilization. You will conduct time studies, design layouts, develop business cases, and support the implementation of new processes, tools, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze operating conditions to identify inefficiencies and waste related to time, materials, energy, and labor.

  • Conduct time and motion studies to establish accurate labor standards and performance measurements.

  • Develop and evaluate pilot programs, simulations, prototypes, and process improvement concepts.

  • Design equipment and workspace layouts to maximize efficiency, safety, and productivity.

  • Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow to support operational improvements.

  • Improve labor utilization by studying work methods, testing modifications, and recommending job restructuring.

  • Enhance workflow by reviewing process flow charts, recommending workstation or product changes, and developing new procedures.

  • Reduce waste by analyzing methods, equipment, and operator techniques and recommending improvements.

  • Collaborate with management and engineering teams to implement work improvement programs.

  • Prepare detailed reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operational data and trends.

  • Train and guide operators and supervisors during the rollout of new processes or improvements.

  • Maintain operational guidelines by writing and updating policies, procedures, and standard methods.

  • Protect organizational value by maintaining confidentiality and promoting responsible information handling.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Experience

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in process improvement, workflow optimization, and labor analysis.

  • Proficiency with time studies, layout design, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate findings effectively.

  • Experience in manufacturing environments strongly preferred.

Job Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
