Job Full Description:
Our client, a respected consulting engineering firm, is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys managing structural projects from concept and design through construction completion while collaborating with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in structural design, experience producing construction documents, and a clear path toward professional licensure in Texas.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review structural engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and other project stakeholders throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Participate in design meetings, project coordination sessions, and site visits.
- Support BIM workflows utilizing Autodesk Revit and related technologies.
- Assist with project scheduling, task management, and project execution.
- Provide technical support and respond to RFIs and construction-related questions during the construction phase.
- Perform periodic field observations and document structural conditions and construction progress.
- Contribute to projects from initial planning and design through construction completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architectural Engineering required.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Texas preferred.
- Candidates must have a clear path toward PE licensure if not currently licensed.
- Structural engineering project experience spanning planning, design, and construction phases.
- Experience preparing engineering calculations, construction documents, and technical reports.
- Familiarity with building codes, structural design standards, and engineering best practices.
- Consulting engineering firm experience preferred.
- Experience conducting field observations and coordinating with construction teams.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Experience using Revit.
- Knowledge of structural analysis and design software.
- Proficiency with standard engineering design and calculation tools.
- Experience working within BIM-based project delivery environments.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based engineering and project coordination role.
- Periodic travel to project sites for structural observations, coordination meetings, and construction support activities.
