Our client is a well-established financial organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This is a fantastic opportunity with a stable company featuring a collaborative team of 10 accounting professionals, including a CFO, Staff Accountants, and administrative support.
About the Role
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting daily and monthly accounting operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong reconciliation experience and a background in accounting or banking. You’ll work closely with a tight-knit team to ensure accurate financial reporting, account monitoring, and compliance.
Responsibilities
Daily & Ongoing Duties
- Perform daily reconciliations across multiple accounts, including:
- Cash Accounts
- ACH
- Due From Bank
- General Ledger Monitoring/Exception
- IntraFi
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of financial data through regular review and analysis.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes as needed.
Bi-Weekly & Monthly Duties
- Complete bi-weekly 945 backup tax remittance.
- Reconcile monthly Other Assets & Liabilities to ensure accountable and timely reporting.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting experience and/or banking/financial institution experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; Associate degree minimum.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with account reconciliation, GL processes, and financial data review.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
