Job Full Description:
Our client is a well-established construction organization looking to identify an experienced Senior Estimator / Preconstruction Manager. This is an opportunity to take ownership of estimating and preconstruction operations while helping establish the processes, tools, and team structure needed for future growth.
What You’ll Do
- Lead estimating and preconstruction activities for electrical, mechanical, civil, municipal, industrial, and water/wastewater projects.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, pricing, labor analysis, and bid-package development.
- Review project plans, specifications, and subcontractor proposals to identify scope gaps, bid risks, exclusions, and opportunities for value engineering.
- Prepare accurate, competitive, and timely estimates and bids.
- Establish and refine estimating standards, templates, tools, and workflows.
- Create a repeatable estimating process that can support multiple active estimates each month.
- Help build the foundation for a scalable preconstruction department and future estimating team.
- Improve consistency, efficiency, and collaboration across the estimating and bidding process.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of construction estimating experience, with senior-level experience strongly preferred.
- Background as a Senior Estimator, Estimating Manager, Estimator Supervisor, Estimator, or Preconstruction Manager.
- Practical, hands-on estimating expertise with a demonstrated record of successful bids.
- Experience estimating one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, civil, municipal, industrial, or water/wastewater construction.
- Strong ability to interpret plans, specifications, scopes of work, and subcontractor proposals.
- Experience developing or improving estimating processes, tools, and templates.
- A detail-oriented, commercially minded approach with the ability to balance accuracy, competitiveness, and deadlines.
