Job Full Description:
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to step into a highly visible, hands-on role. This position offers the opportunity to own full-cycle accounting, strengthen financial reporting, and help improve processes and controls while partnering closely with leadership.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytically strong, and comfortable balancing strategic reporting with day-to-day transactional work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports to support leadership decision-making
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections
- Step in as needed to process AP/AR transactions and support daily accounting operations
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel models for budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and variance reporting
- Support cost accounting and inventory-related activities, including materials, labor, overhead, and cost of goods sold
- Improve structure, documentation, and consistency around accounting processes and internal controls
- Assist with implementing and enhancing accounting systems, workflows, and reporting to support ongoing growth
- Collaborate with operations and leadership to provide financial insight and decision support
- Prepare schedules and provide support for external audits, tax filings, and banking or financing needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required
- Strong experience with full-cycle accounting, including financial reporting, general ledger, and month-end close
- Hands-on AP/AR management experience with a willingness to remain involved in transactional work
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
- Experience with Sage or similar ERP/accounting systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
