Our client, a fast-growing and highly regarded print and embroidery shop, is seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead day-to-day production and operational excellence. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on the production floor, understands commercial equipment inside and out, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work on tight timelines.
Position Overview
The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring all production runs are accurate, on time, and meet customer specifications, while maintaining efficient workflows and top-tier equipment performance. This leader will oversee operations with a focus on quality, accountability, and continuous output, ensuring the shop operates smoothly with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of daily production operations
- Ensure jobs are completed accurately, on schedule, and to exact customer specifications
- Maintain high-quality output standards across all print and embroidery processes
- Drive efficient workflow, ensuring production moves independently and consistently
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot commercial printing and embroidery equipment
- Perform or oversee routine maintenance to keep all equipment running at peak efficiency
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks in real time
- Train, coach, and lead production staff to meet performance and quality standards
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure seamless job execution
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with commercial print equipment (REQUIRED)
- Demonstrated ability to operate and troubleshoot:
- Mimaki UV printers
- DTF (Direct-to-Film) systems
- CNC machines
- Laser cutting/engraving equipment
- Commercial embroidery machines
- Strong production management background in a print shop, sign shop, or similar environment (preferred)
- Proven ability to manage workflow, meet deadlines, and maintain quality under pressure
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for equipment troubleshooting
- Self-directed leader capable of ensuring operations run smoothly with minimal oversight
