Job Full Description:
Our client, a growing financial institution, is seeking a Payments & Account Services Manager to lead critical member-facing operations and drive performance across payment services. This role blends operational leadership, compliance oversight, and portfolio growth strategy, making it ideal for a motivated professional with banking or credit union experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Service Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day payment and account services operations, including:
- Debit & credit card portfolios
- ACH processing and EFT transactions
- ITM (Interactive Teller Machines)
- Bill Pay services
- Share draft accounts
- IRA processing (ensuring accuracy and compliance)
- Maintain operational excellence, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance, including BSA requirements
- Ensure efficient workflows and continuous process improvement
Card Portfolio Growth & Financial Performance
- Drive growth of debit and credit card portfolios through increased activity and usage
- Manage and optimize net income performance related to card products
- Leverage data analysis, market insights, and member behavior to enhance performance
- Balance growth strategies with effective risk management practices
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team
- Recruit and retain top talent
- Establish clear performance expectations and track against KPIs and strategic objectives
- Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement
Strategy & Member Experience
- Contribute to strategic planning initiatives related to payments and account services
- Enhance the member experience across all service channels
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, IT, and compliance teams
Financial & Compliance Management
- Support budget oversight and cost management within the department
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including BSA and audit requirements
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation across all service areas
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in banking or credit union operations
- Hands-on experience with:
- Credit/debit card operations and disputes
- ACH processing and EFT
- Payments and account services functions
- Supervisory or management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of financial institution regulations and compliance standards (BSA knowledge required)
- Experience with IRA processing and account services strongly preferred
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
