Job Full Description:

Our staffing firm is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mortgage Manager to lead a mortgage lending department for a reputable financial organization. This role requires a strong background in mortgage lending, leadership experience, and a high level of competency with lending regulations, loan processing, and department operations.


Position Overview

The Mortgage Manager will oversee all functions of the Mortgage Loan Department, including construction lending, secondary market activities, portfolio servicing, budgeting, and overall lending operations. This is a leadership role requiring strong decision‑making abilities, compliance awareness, and a commitment to maintaining efficient, accurate lending processes.


Key Responsibilities

Department Leadership

  • Supervise and manage all daily operations within the Mortgage Loan Department.
  • Oversee areas including:
    • Construction loans
    • Secondary market lending
    • Portfolio servicing
    • Departmental budgeting
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance oversight for mortgage staff.

Loan Processing & Credit Extension

  • Manage credit extension for all home loan products.
  • Oversee processes including:
    • Underwriting (UW)
    • Loan processing
    • Closing procedures
    • Renewals
    • Shipping
    • Funding
  • Ensure loans are processed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with lending standards.

Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure all lending operations follow established internal policiesindustry regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Monitor documentation standards, workflow processes, and overall loan quality.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to maintain compliance.

Qualifications

Required

  • Active registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) on the NMLS website (annual renewal required).
  • Minimum 2 years of mortgage lending experience.
  • 2–5 years of related industry experience.
  • Proficiency with:
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Adobe PDF tools
    • Basic business equipment
    • Loan origination and processing software
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Supervisory or management experience within mortgage lending.
  • College degree (preferred, but not required).
