Our client is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Assistant Director to help lead and execute the organization's HR strategy while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day human resources operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with hands-on execution across the entire employee lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and employee engagement. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to leadership while helping foster a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture.

Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process from job posting through offer acceptance.
  • Develop and maintain effective sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
  • Screen candidates, conduct interviews, coordinate hiring manager interviews, and facilitate hiring decisions.
  • Manage applicant tracking systems and recruiting metrics.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

Onboarding & Employee Experience

  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Ensure all employment documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Create programs that support employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture.
  • Organize employee recognition initiatives, team-building activities, and company events.
  • Coordinate group lunches, employee appreciation events, and wellness activities.

Benefits & HR Administration

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, life events, and annual open enrollment.
  • Serve as a resource for employee benefits questions and concerns.
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data integrity.
  • Assist with compensation, leave administration, and policy interpretation.

Employee Relations

  • Foster positive employee relations across the organization.
  • Assist managers and employees in resolving workplace concerns.
  • Conduct investigations as needed and document findings appropriately.
  • Support performance management and employee development initiatives.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
  • Assist with audits and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor employment law changes and recommend policy updates as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Professional HR certification required:
    • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, and/or
    • PHR or SPHR
  • Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruiting and onboarding.
  • Experience administering employee benefits programs.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
