Job Full Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Assistant Director to help lead and execute the organization's HR strategy while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day human resources operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with hands-on execution across the entire employee lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and employee engagement. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to leadership while helping foster a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture.
Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process from job posting through offer acceptance.
- Develop and maintain effective sourcing strategies to attract top talent.
- Screen candidates, conduct interviews, coordinate hiring manager interviews, and facilitate hiring decisions.
- Manage applicant tracking systems and recruiting metrics.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
- Ensure all employment documentation is completed accurately and timely.
- Create programs that support employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture.
- Organize employee recognition initiatives, team-building activities, and company events.
- Coordinate group lunches, employee appreciation events, and wellness activities.
Benefits & HR Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, life events, and annual open enrollment.
- Serve as a resource for employee benefits questions and concerns.
- Maintain employee records and HRIS data integrity.
- Assist with compensation, leave administration, and policy interpretation.
Employee Relations
- Foster positive employee relations across the organization.
- Assist managers and employees in resolving workplace concerns.
- Conduct investigations as needed and document findings appropriately.
- Support performance management and employee development initiatives.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
- Assist with audits and reporting requirements.
- Monitor employment law changes and recommend policy updates as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Professional HR certification required:
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, and/or
- PHR or SPHR
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruiting and onboarding.
- Experience administering employee benefits programs.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
