Job Full Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent to oversee the execution of commercial construction projects in the field. This role serves as the primary onsite point of contact for General Contractor (GC) superintendents and installation crews, ensuring projects are completed on time, within GC expectations, and in compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has hands‑on construction leadership experience, strong knowledge of flooring, tile, or commercial finish work, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve field issues.
Key Responsibilities
Field Execution & Site Management
- Monitor and manage field execution for all assigned contract projects
- Serve as the primary onsite contact for GC superintendents and installation crews
- Attend jobsite meetings and coordinate daily activities with GCs and subcontractors
Scheduling, Materials & Quality Control
- Ensure materials are delivered and available onsite when needed
- Coordinate crew scheduling to align with project timelines
- Verify that installations meet contract specifications, plans, drawings, and GC schedules
- Perform quality control inspections to confirm installs meet required standards
Issue Identification & Reporting
- Identify and document field issues including:
- Material waste or damage
- Poor substrate conditions
- Scope gaps or change order opportunities
- Communicate all issues promptly to the Project Manager
Project Outcomes & Closeout
- Ensure projects are completed on time and meet GC expectations
- Verify quality installations per plans and specifications
- Identify, document, and support processing of change orders
- Perform moisture testing in accordance with ASTM F‑2170 requirements
- Track and resolve punch list items in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Field Superintendent or Construction Foreman
- Experience managing subcontractor crews
- Familiarity working within GC‑led environments, including jobsite meetings
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents:
- Plans
- Specifications
- Elevations
- Drawings
Preferred Experience
- Background in flooring, tile, or commercial finish work
- Knowledge of flooring and tile installation standards and best practices
- Experience with moisture testing per ASTM F‑2170
Skills & Technical Proficiency
- Quality control inspection and documentation
- Change order identification and field measurements
- Crew accountability and production tracking
- Proficiency with Procore and Fieldwire
- Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
