Job Full Description:
Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Director of Logistics to oversee and optimize their end-to-end logistics operations. This is a strategic leadership role requiring strong analytical skills, operational expertise, and the ability to lead a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Analyze logistics data to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements that enhance delivery speed and reduce costs.
- Recruit, train, and manage logistics staff to maintain a skilled, high-performing team.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, international, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics partners.
- Assist in developing and managing logistics budgets, tracking expenses, and reporting key financial performance metrics.
- Oversee logistics systems (WMS, TMS) to improve tracking and streamline operations.
- Prepare and deliver reports on logistics KPIs, including delivery accuracy, transportation costs, and inventory levels.
- Create and maintain contingency plans for operational disruptions or supply chain emergencies.
- Support long-term logistics strategies aligned with company objectives and evolving market demands.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles, including 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements including DOT, OSHA, and systems such as SAP, Oracle, WMS, and TMS.
- Professional certifications such as APICS CSCP or CLTD strongly preferred.
- Strong negotiation, leadership, and analytical skills.
