Job Full Description:
This is a stable, family-oriented manufacturing company where half of their 70 employees have been with them for 25+ years! They specialize in custom metal building design and manufacturing. Think of them as the IKEA of metal buildings - they design and create complete building kits that customers assemble on-site.
Position Overview:
This company is seeking 3-4 Designer/Detailers to join their quiet, focused design department. This is an entry-level position with an exceptional 18-month comprehensive training program. This role serves as a launching pad - many of their designers have advanced to become customer service managers, inside sales managers, estimators, and construction managers!
What You'll Do:

Enter design specifications into proprietary MBMA (Metal Building Manufacturer Association) software based on contracted building requirements

Create detailed assembly instructions and erection manuals for construction teams

Generate manufacturing specifications and order lists for production facilities, including steel dimensions, bolt quantities, and all components needed for custom metal building projects

Double-check all design specifications for accuracy - your work directly impacts manufacturing and construction processes
What They're Looking For:
CRITICAL: Strong mathematical ability, especially trigonometry, and excellent spatial visualization skills (ability to view 2D drawings and envision 3D structures)

Have a high school diploma or equivalent (no specific degree required - they've hired everyone from high school graduates to engineering degree holders)

Want comprehensive training (they'll teach you CAD and their proprietary software - prior experience not required!)
BONUS: 3D modeling knowledge is a plus for future opportunities

Compensation & Schedule:

Starting pay: $16/hour for all new hires

Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Overtime available (typically 3-4 hours per week at time and a half)

First review at 6 months, then annual reviews
