Job Full Description:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support large-scale data review and quality control efforts for a rapidly growing organization in the utilities/infrastructure sector. This role involves repetitive, meticulous analysis of point/attribute datasets and requires strong attention to detail, pattern recognition, and proficiency with database tools.


Position Overview

The Data Analyst will work with large utility pole attachment datasets across Excel, Access, and SQL environments. The role involves reviewing thousands of records, identifying anomalies, cross-referencing multiple data sources, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of project deliverables. Candidates must be comfortable with repetitive tasks and large datasets.


Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
  • Working knowledge of MySQL/SQL.
  • Ability to perform accurate, high-volume data entry and database navigation.
  • Strong skills in pattern recognition, anomaly detection, and cross-referencing data from multiple sources.

Preferred

  • Prior data analyst experience or equivalent analytical/data-management background.
  • Experience with large point/attribute datasets.
  • Industry experience in utilities, power, telecom, or cable environments.
  • GIS/ArcGIS familiarity (not required but a plus).
  • Additional coursework or technical experience in analytics or data management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Dataset Analysis & Data Scrubbing

  • Analyze and scrub utility pole attachment databases using Excel, Access, and MySQL tools.
  • Review ones/zeros, lookup fields, and attribute values for accuracy.
  • Identify, flag, and document anomalies, inconsistencies, and potential data errors.
  • Detect emerging patterns or trends in large datasets.

2. Quality Control Collaboration

  • Work directly with the VP/team lead on project-level data quality control tasks.
  • Cross-reference project data between a map viewer interface and database tables to verify accuracy.
  • Support the correction and validation process to ensure precise final deliverables.

3. Data Organization & Documentation

  • Maintain well-organized, accurate, and up-to-date data records.
  • Ensure data is complete, consistent, and properly structured across multiple systems.
  • Prepare clean datasets and maintain documentation required for project submissions.
