Job Full Description:
Our client is a growing organization looking to identify an experienced Controller to oversee the company’s accounting and financial operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys owning the full accounting cycle while partnering with leadership and external advisors.
Position Overview
The Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, while managing day-to-day accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations. This role will also work closely with an outside CPA firm to support tax documentation and compliance and will play a key role in inventory accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee accurate financial reporting, including monthly and year-end statements
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights to leadership
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
- Ensure proper inventory accounting and cost tracking
- Maintain and manage the general ledger and journal entries
- Partner with an outside CPA to prepare and support tax filings and audits
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
- Maintain accounting systems and processes using QuickBooks Online
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- CPA strongly preferred
- Proven experience in a Controller or senior accounting role
- Solid understanding of inventory accounting
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
