Job Full Description:
Our client is looking for an experienced Controller/CPA to lead the accounting and financial operations of a growing organization with multiple entities and annual revenues exceeding $25 million. This strategic leadership role will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance while partnering closely with executive leadership and a Fractional CFO to support business objectives and drive financial performance.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong GAAP expertise, multi-entity experience, and a proven track record of managing the full accounting cycle in a dynamic business environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all accounting and financial reporting functions across multiple entities
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and journal entries
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning
- Partner with the Fractional CFO to provide meaningful financial analysis and strategic recommendations
- Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and key business metrics
- Oversee inventory accounting activities, including valuation, reconciliation, and cost analysis
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
- Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external auditors and tax professionals
- Establish and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
- Analyze operational and financial results to identify opportunities for efficiency and profitability improvements
- Utilize QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel to manage reporting, analysis, and financial processes
- Mentor and develop accounting staff as needed
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- Proven experience serving as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leader
- Experience managing organizations with $25MM+ annual revenue
- Strong GAAP accounting knowledge and application
- Significant inventory accounting experience
- Experience managing accounting operations across multiple entities
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, reporting, and analysis
- Deep understanding of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
