Our client is a building manufacturer and is seeking an experienced Controller to join their team and lead its financial operations. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong financial processes that support sustainable company growth.

The Controller will oversee all accounting functions, ensure accuracy and compliance, enhance internal controls, and provide leadership with meaningful financial insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and all financial reconciliations.
• Lead, manage, and mentor the accounting team—providing coaching, developmental support, and performance management.
• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve internal control systems.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage year-end close processes and coordinate with external auditors.
• Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with department leaders.
• Develop and maintain rolling forecasts, cash-flow projections, and variance analyses.
• Analyze financial data to support business planning, cost optimization, pricing, and capital investment decisions.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy, accountability, and efficiency.
• Create dashboards and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess financial health.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on financial performance and long-term planning.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience

• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including supervisory responsibility.
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and familiarity with manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Business Central / Dynamics strongly preferred).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
