Job Full Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Controller to oversee the our client’s accounting operations and financial management. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, effective cash and treasury management, and providing financial insight to support strategic decision‑making. The Controller will also lead and develop the accounting team while driving process and system improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Close
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
Cash Management & Treasury
- Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity, and treasury activities
- Oversee banking relationships and ensure effective cash controls
Budgeting, Forecasting & FP&A
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
- Provide variance analysis and financial insights to leadership
- Support business planning and strategic initiatives through financial modeling and analysis
General Ledger & Internal Controls
- Oversee general ledger activities and account reconciliations
- Design, implement, and maintain strong internal control frameworks
- Ensure policies and procedures are documented and consistently applied
Cost Accounting & Inventory
- Manage cost accounting processes, including inventory valuation and controls
- Analyze cost structures and margins to support operational decision‑making
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, workflows, and reporting
- Partner with IT and operations to implement new tools and efficiencies
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Set clear expectations, provide feedback, and support professional growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- CPA preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Controller
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and cost accounting
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
