Job Full Description:
Our client is a well-established construction firm and they are looking to identify a detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer to support both residential and commercial projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in construction administration, document control, and budgeting, and who enjoys being the operational backbone that keeps projects moving from preconstruction through closeout.
This is a highly visible support role working closely with Project Managers and Superintendents in both the office and the field.
Key Responsibilities
1. Document Control & Contract Administration
- Prepare, send, track, and manage contracts, subcontracts, change orders, and purchase orders using DocuSign
- Maintain compliance documentation including insurance certificates, W-9s, and vendor records
- Manage and organize all project documentation within Procore
- Ensure accurate, timely document flow and version control across all projects
2. Budgeting, Cost Control & Dual Estimating
- Assist with residential and commercial budgeting, quantity takeoffs, and estimating
- Support AIA change orders, cost tracking, and budget updates
- Work closely with project teams to reconcile costs and support financial accuracy
- This role requires someone who is very strong with numbers and comfortable working across multiple budgets simultaneously
3. Administrative & Field Support
- Provide day-to-day support to Project Managers and Superintendents
- Assist with permits, applications, and utility coordination (e.g., water meters)
- Support project mobilization and demobilization
- Assist with bidding, proposals, and preconstruction activities
- Handle general construction administration and “whatever the field needs” to keep projects on schedule
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in construction administration, document control, or project support
- Strong proficiency with:
- Procore
- Bluebeam
- DocuSign
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong numerical aptitude and comfort working with budgets and estimates
Education
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Ideal degrees include:
- Construction Science
- Construction Management
- Or a related field
