Our client is a well-established, multi-entity organization seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support and elevate their accounting operations. About the Role

The Assistant Controller will play a central role in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. This position requires strong technical accounting skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex, multi-entity financial structures.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.

  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support informed business decisions.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales tax and income tax filings.

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and providing analysis.

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedural documentation.

  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to leadership.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support financial planning and operational efficiency.

  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering professional development and strong team performance.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within multi-entity environments.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAPIFRS, and financial reporting standards.

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and inter-entity transactions.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
