Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable Accountant to join their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently while maintaining accuracy and strong vendor relationships.

Position Summary

The Accounts Payable/Receivable Accountant is responsible for managing the full cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, maintaining vendor records, and supporting month-end accounting activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing priorities with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and verify high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and process weekly payment runs, including ACH, wire transfers, and checks.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and documentation.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and accruals.
  • Monitor aging reports and ensure timely payment of approved invoices.
  • Support internal and external audit requests.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and operations teams to resolve invoice and payment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of AP processes and accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Experience with inventory-related transactions and purchase order processing.
  • Exposure to month-end close and general ledger activities.
