Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable Accountant to join their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently while maintaining accuracy and strong vendor relationships.
Position Summary
The Accounts Payable/Receivable Accountant is responsible for managing the full cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, maintaining vendor records, and supporting month-end accounting activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing priorities with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and verify high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs, including ACH, wire transfers, and checks.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and documentation.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and accruals.
- Monitor aging reports and ensure timely payment of approved invoices.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and operations teams to resolve invoice and payment issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of AP processes and accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Experience with inventory-related transactions and purchase order processing.
- Exposure to month-end close and general ledger activities.
