About the Position: Specialized Recruiting Group has partnered with a private, family-owned Oil & Gas firm in the Denver Tech Center to search for a Senior Oil & Gas Accountant to join their established and tenured team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in oil and gas revenue accounting, financial reporting, and managing accounting processes across multiple interrelated entities, including partnerships, trusts, and LLCs. Job Responsibilities:
- Oil and Gas
- Perform full-cycle oil and gas accounting for internal entities, including revenue accounting, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee and ensure accurate revenue allocations and distributions, providing oversight and validation of revenue accounting processes
- Review and verify revenue accounting work, ensuring accuracy and proper financial reporting
- Monitor revenue accounts monthly, identifying and resolving discrepancies related to ownership changes, revenue allocations, system transitions, etc.
- Perform month-end revenue close procedures

- Solid understanding of general ledgers and journal entries as a key part of this role, supporting revenue, asset transfers, and financial reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports, financial statements, and lease operating expense (LOE) analyses
- Work with multiple interrelated entities, including partnerships, trusts, and LLCs, ensuring proper financial reporting and compliance
- Support cross-training initiatives to gain exposure to family office functions, investments, and interrelated accounting operations

Job Experience
- 5-10+ years of oil and gas accounting experience, with a strong background in revenue accounting and financial reporting
- Solid understanding of general ledger reconciliations, balance sheets, income statements, and financial reporting processes
- Experience working with multiple entities, including partnerships, trusts, and LLCs
- Some exposure to investment accounting and tax accounting is preferred
- Proficiency in Oil & Gas accounting systems (Bolo/Excalibur preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and the ability to manipulate large datasets for financial reporting
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in revenue reconciliations and account monitoring
Job Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; Master’s Degree preferred
